So, get this. First time getting to ride my SV and the low oil pressure light is on. It doesn’t go away either when starting up the bike. I’ve seen a number of little fixes here and there, but I want to try what the owners here have found. Any luck with this?

EDIT: air pocket in the filter!

Not an SV owner, but ever try a new oil pressure sensor? If my Ducati one was less than $60, how bad can it be?

I could try that. I’m going to start off with everything electrical. One owner suggested a new battery.

I think so. I’m having my brother, who has been helping me get it running the whole time (he’s on his second SV, and he has repaired a few bikes), do everything. He cleaned the sensor, checked the oil pump gear, tightened the case back up properly, etc. I keep asking for news and if he has found anything and he is ignoring me.

I see you got it fixed, I always pour oil in the filter before spinning it on not sure if you did that or not. Air pockets can happen regardless though. They aren’t very common but it can happen.

And I’m glad it was just that. I thought it would be worse than that!

Now that its fixxed let me you something.

KISS

Keep it simple stupid.

Oil light is on? Assume something is wrong with oil and do an oil change. THEN start assuming shit is broken

Good advice, but I will think about passing it on to my brother. He is the one working on the bike and not me.
